Hoodoo Blue Cocktail By Katalina Leon

In Katalina’s paranormal romance “Hoodoo Blue” the cocktail is blended by a sexy Fae bartender named Sid and loaded with a witch’s tricky love spell and a time released mojo.

If you are not a practicing Witch or Fae, I suggest you start with the basic recipe and add lots of your own brand of fun, laughter and love and see what happens.

Ingredients

1 oz. Rum

1 oz. Blue Curacao

2/3 oz. Coconut Cream

Pineapple Juice

Garnish: Red Maraschino Cherry, Pineapple spear and silver of lime.

Instructions

Pour the rum, Blue Curacao and coconut cream with 6 oz. crushed ice in the blender.

Add pineapple juice, quick pulse blend a couple seconds.

Pour into a chilled glass and garnish with maraschino cherry, pineapple spear and lime sliver.

Extra points for locating a real Tiki glass and a paper parasol.

The drink is best enjoyed with a handsome werewolf.

Jean Lafitte’s Walk the Plank Pirate Punch By Suzanne Johnson

Captain Jean Lafitte, the dashing and devious early 19th-century pirate of the Gulf, is currently living in his undead form in the Eudora Welty Suite of New Orleans’ posh Hotel Monteleone.

Unlike his rum-swilling predecessors, this pirate prefers a good brandy and, for special occasions, this Walk the Plank Punch, which he believes will eventually wear down the resolve of the oh-so-tempted (and tempting) wizard, DJ Jaco.

Ingredients

1-1/2 ounces Courvoisier (Jean sez: “Bah, you must consume cheap swill? Then use any palatable brandy or cognac)

1 ounce Cointreau (Jean sez: “Mon Dieu, Jolie. Must we cheapen everything? Very well. Use Triple Sec if you insist.”)

½ ounce fresh lemon juice

Instructions

Rim a chilled cocktail glass with sugar.

Pour the ingredients into a shaker with ice.

Pour.

Drink.

Kiss the pirate.
